ABOUT VIVA ABEJAS
“Viva Abejas” means “long live bees” in Spanish.
You might be wondering - why did Chef Richard Sandoval choose bees?
OUR MISSION
Our food system heavily depends on bees. One in every three bites of food depends on bees for pollination. As a restaurant group focused on Latin cuisine, bees are important as they are major pollinators of the agave plant and avocados. Join us from March 26 - April 22, 2024 at Richard Sandoval restaurants around the globe & enjoy a bee-centric food & drink collection.

FOOD SPECIALS
Savor our bee-centric dishes including Coconut Ceviche with orange blossom honey, Duck Confit Tacos with pickled vegetables and agave honey and sweet treats like our Honey-Vanilla Cheesecake.
DRINK SPECIALS
Sip, sip, save the bees! Our pollinator-inspired drink specials include the Margarita Royale with bee pollen, Garden Spritz with honey caramelized oranges, The Beekeeper with edible flowers & more.
MAKING AN IMPACT
Investing in young people is the best way to lay groundwork for the future, and the bees need our help. Viva Abejas is an initiative with a global reach, and any purchase of a food or drink special from our campaign will drive us towards a better future for all.
OUR GOAL
To educate 60,000 young learners by the end of 2024 with our initiatives. Classroom packets, learning modules, an educational video, and "Viva Abejas" - the children's book by Chef Sandoval - will help us achieve this goal.

VIVA ABEJAS: THE CHILDREN'S BOOK
We are excited to share that Chef Richard Sandoval's first children’s book, Viva Abejas, is published and available on Amazon Prime.

The book is a study into sustainability and the food cycle for early readers and bee enthusiasts alike. The story tells of a young Ricardo who meets a Queen Bee in his abuela’s backyard, who educates him on the importance of pollination and conservation.
